Eric Annes
Attorney, Connecticut Fund for the Environment
Eric D. Annes, an attorney with the Connecticut Fund for the Environment, had previously been an attorney at Wiggin & Dana. Prior to that, he had clerked for the Honorable Lawrence J. Block on the United States Court of Federal Claims. He received his J.D. from Pace Law School summa cum laude in 2006. He received a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies in 2006 and a B.A. from Connecticut College in 1999.

Kerry Patton is the president of the Animal Law Society, a chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, at Quinnipiac University School of Law. He is a full-time paralegal in a corporate legal department, and a fourth-year student in Quinnipiac's evening program.

Dr. Herbert J. Van Kruiningen
Department of Pathobiology and Veterinary Science, University of Connecticut
Dr. Van Kruiningen received his DVM from Cornell University, worked two years as a clinical instructor in large animal medicine at that same university, and then did four years of training in pathology, also at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his PhD in 1966 and then joined the University of Connecticut as an associate professor of what was then the Department of Animal Diseases, now Pathobiology and Veterinary Science. He has served as a teaching faculty member and research investigator since that time. He has published 140 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. In 1989 he received an MD degree from Brown University. He is currently head of the Department of Pathobiology and Veterinary Science and Director of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory, both part of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Connecticut, Storrs.
