2007
The conference "Resolving Disputes in Educational Settings: Collaboration is Key" was held on May 16, 2007, in the School of Law Center. Fran Fletcher, policy scientist for the Conflict Resolution Program at the Institute for Public Administration at the University of Delaware, gave the keynote lecture "IEP Meeting Facilitation: A Trend Moving beyond Fad." The afternoon keynote speaker, Jillian M. Cutler of the Georgetown University Law Center, addressed the topic "Understanding Rights and Resolving Disputes under Federal Disability Laws." The conference was sponsored by the State Education Resource Center.

The conference "Taking the War Out of our Words" was held on June 8, 2007, in the School of Law Center. The event was sponsored by the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation and Collaborative Practice, a statewide nonprofit professional organization comprised of lawyers, financial specialists and mental health professionals who are specially trained and qualified in collaborative practice and mediation.


2006
The conference "Resolving Disputes in Educational Settings: Think Prevention!" was held on May 17, 2006, in the School of Law Center. It included the keynote lecture "Developing Win-Win Relationships: Parents and Professionals Collaborating on Common Interests and Issues" by consultant Peggy Hayden. Michael McKeon, an attorney at the firm of Sullivan, Schoen, Campane & Connon, LLC, in Hartford, Conn., lectured on "Dispute Resolution under IDEA 2004." The conference was sponsored by the State Education Resource Center.


2005
The conference "Resolving Disputes in Educational Settings: Communication, Communication, Communication" was held on May 18, 2005, in the School of Law Center. It included the keynote lecture "More Than Just a Change in the Law: The Move toward Early, Collaborative Dispute Resolution" by John Reiman, mediation specialist for the National Center on Dispute Resolution in Special Education. Nancy A. Welsh, a professor at Penn State University Dickinson School of Law, gave the lecture "Stepping Back through the Looking Glass: Real Conversations with Real People about Special Education Mediation and its Value." The conference was sponsored by the State Education Resource Center.

The conference "Dissolving the Marriage, Preserving the Family" was held on June 2, 2005, at the School of Law Center. The event was sponsored by the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation and Collaborative Practice, a statewide nonprofit professional organization comprised of lawyers, financial specialists and mental health professionals who are specially trained and qualified in collaborative practice and mediation.
