Applying as a Transfer

Transfer applications are considered from students who possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and who are in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school after one full year of study.

Students wishing to be considered for transfer must complete an application for admission to the law school and indicate that they are applying for transfer admission.

Transfer applicants must also submit:

  • A letter of good academic standing from their law school
  • An official law school transcript recording all course work attempted
  • A current LSDAS report
  • An application following the first-year process

The maximum number of credits a student can transfer from another law school is 30 credits. Credits accepted from other law schools are transferred with the grade of "Pass." No credits are transferred for grades below C (2.0).

For more information on transfer applications, please refer to our Law School catalog (page 60).
