Since taking over as CEO of the Bridgeport Bluefish minor league baseball team, Mary-Jane Foster JD ’95 has been on a mission to energize the fan base of the Atlantic League team.
Foster is intent on seeing fans return to the stadium. She didn’t just hope they would come—she called them.
“I can’t begin to count the number of calls I’ve made so far, but it feels like thousands. Virtually everyone I’ve called has something to say,” she said. “I’ve learned there are some details that perhaps haven’t always been obvious that we need to consider and make changes in order to give our customers a higher return on their investment.”

It’s also Foster’s goal to see that law students at her alma mater get a high return on their investment. She became a member of Quinnipiac’s Board of Trustees after serving on the School of Law’s Deans Advisory Board.
“I was approached about seven years ago to be a trustee, and it was an easy decision,” Foster said. “Quinnipiac is an extraordinary university. It’s populated with some really, really talented people.”
Foster returned to school in her early forties, earning a bachelor’s degree from Charter Oak College and then her JD from Quinnipiac.
In many ways, whether she’s wearing a trustee’s hat or a Bluefish baseball cap, Foster’s goals are the same: to make her team a champion.
