One of six legal clinics at the Quinnipiac University School of Law, the Civil clinic has you working under the supervision of full-time faculty members representing low- and middle-income individuals who cannot afford counsel. You’ll appear on behalf of these clients in state, probate and federal courts.
The caseload is much like that of a general practice law firm and includes family, bankruptcy, foreclosure and tort defense cases, as well as non-litigation matters.
Carefully monitored caseloads allow student-attorneys to offer high-quality representation to their clients and lets students focus on developing their own skills.
In the past, for example, our Civil clinic students have represented public housing tenants challenging the sale of their homes to a developer and assisted children born out of wedlock to establish inheritance rights.
